Today we start the juice cleanse which we plan to do for 2 days. Our first juice consisted of carrots, beets, cucumber, ginger, lemon and green apple. It was surprisingly tasty! We are also having some herbal tea and lots of water. We have a second juice to make and drink at mid morning that is made from Romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery, lemon and green apple. Lunch is made from spinach parsley, carrots, celery and beet. For dinner we have a bunch of options and we have decided on a juice of fennel, carrots, celery, pear, and ginger.
The weigh in yesterday has me at 213 lbs and Pam at X. Nearly a year ago when we originally began getting healthier I was 265 lbs and my goal is about 195 - 200. Pam started at X+23 and her goal weight is X-32.
My trip to the pharmacy yielded no test strips for Ph so we will be stuck with weight, blood pressure, and resting heart rate.
Here are the stats:
Me - BP 115 over 75 resting heart rate 65.
Pam - BP 117 over 75 and resting heart rate at 69.
We will measure again tomorrow and the next day to document the fast. The weights will have to wait until Monday as we are not at home while we begin this.
One couple's story of a one month raw food diet.
We have apparantly seen too many documentaries on the evils of processed foods and the health benefits of a diet that is "closer to the ground." This adventure will include a two day juice "fast" and January 2011 we will eat only raw foods. This is a little scary for us as red wine and chocolate are not on the diet. Even air-poppped popcorn isn't.
Our goals include more energy, better health and weight loss. We will do our best to document what we do eat and what changes we see in our health.
Please comment if you want more information than we post so we can share what we can.
